Sportsguard wil make individual mouthguards by appointment. If you wish to contact Sportsguard directly for impressions and fittings, they can be contacted on 9417 1449 and www.sportsguard.com.au. They are located at 82 Bell Street, Fitzroy. Sportsguard are a Kew Comets sponsor.
Mouthguards must be worn at all training sessions and games. This is a requirement of the league and the club for insurance purposes.
The club's Season Launch will be held on Sunday 23 March. This is the opportunity to find out which team each player is in. All players can meet their Coach and Team Manager. Season training times will be advised, although some of these may be available in advance on the website. If you have any issue with training times or your team, we ask that you speak to one of the Committe who will be there on the day. The Committee is there to help sort out any questions or problems which may arise.
Any merchandise which has been ordered can be collected. Further orders for merchandise can also be made on the day. Sportsguard will be present to fit mouthguards which have been previously ordered. They will also take new orders and make fittings, although they cannot gaurantee that these will be available by the first round. Note that as Sportsguard require running water and electricity, they will operate from the Harriers building, the wooden one by the cemetary wall. You will have to make your way over there during the afternoon.
To get this underway, the club will put on a BBQ and have soft drinks for sale. After a quick introduction, the club will break up into teams for a chat with Coach and Team Manager.
This will run from 3pm to 5pm near the Big Slide in Victoria Park, near the corner of High Street and Adeney Ave.
Round One of the 2014 season will be Sunday 6 April.
Round Two will be Sunday 27 April, which avoids some conflict with the school holidays. Your Team Manager will be keen to know if you are unavailable for either of these games, so be sure to let them know at the Season Launch or your earliest convenience. The timing of the school holidays made setting the fixture a difficult choice, so the YJFL asks for your understanding.
Season Training times will commence on Monday 31 March.
The club supplies each player with a Comets playing jumper. The Team Manager will hand these out in the week prior to the first game. Players keep the jumper for the season and return them to the Team Manager after the last game of the season.
All players need to have their own YJFL logo'd shorts - white for away games and brown for home games. Also, a pair of yellow footy socks are required. All are available form Bob Stewarts, 201-221 High Street Kew
